The State Council's Work Safety Commission has set up a special task force to supervise and handle the investigation of the major ship capsizing accident on February 17th in Chuxiong, Yunnan.
On February 17th, around 15:40, a passenger ship capsized at Lianxi Bay Resort in Xiaowu Pai, Lianhua Village, Donghua Town, Chuxiong City, Yunnan Province. 26 people on board fell into the water, resulting in 4 deaths. After the accident, the Ministry of Emergency Management requested to quickly verify the number of casualties, provide full treatment to the injured, investigate the cause thoroughly, hold those responsible accountable, learn from this incident, and decisively prevent similar accidents from happening again. The Office of the State Council's Work Safety Commission decided to conduct a special supervision on the investigation and handling of this accident, requiring Yunnan Province to investigate this incident at a higher level in accordance with the principle of "no tolerance", and hold those responsible accountable in accordance with the law. The specific cause of this accident and the follow-up work are still being carried out.
