On the first day of the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Horse in 2026, China once again expanded its "circle of friends" for visa-free entry. Starting from February 17, China implemented visa-free policies for holders of ordinary passports from Canada and the United Kingdom, allowing them to enter China for business, tourism, visiting relatives, or exchange visits for up to 30 days without a visa. On the first day of the policy implementation, Shanghai Pudong International Airport welcomed the first group of foreign visitors from Canada and the UK who were able to enjoy the new visa-free policy.
