A group of investors led by Blackstone Group plans to make a maximum of $600 million equity investment in the Indian artificial intelligence cloud startup Neysa. According to a statement released on Monday, in addition to this round of equity financing, Neysa will also seek to secure an additional $600 million in debt financing. The company plans to use this funding to deploy over 20,000 graphics processors in India for AI training and high-performance applications. This announcement comes as the India AI Impact Summit opens, bringing together AI industry leaders, government officials, and investors to discuss the future direction of AI technology and showcase local entrepreneurial projects. For Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the summit provides an opportunity to emphasize India's competitive advantage in the global AI race. Ganesh Mani, Senior Managing Director of Blackstone's private equity business, stated in the release, "This investment will play a crucial role in driving the development of India's AI infrastructure through Neysa, enabling enterprises and public institutions to more effectively deploy AI technology."
