Research reveals the neural mechanism of the brain "making inferences."
People who are skilled at playing tennis often find it easier to pick up other sports such as badminton and table tennis. This ability to apply knowledge from one activity to another is a fascinating trait of human intelligence, but the underlying neural mechanisms have long remained a mystery. Recently, a research team from the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in collaboration with the Ninth Medical Center of the People's Liberation Army General Hospital and the First Hospital of Jilin University, has for the first time revealed the unique neural organization patterns of the primate brain, providing important answers to unravel this puzzle. This achievement not only deepens our understanding of the learning mechanisms of primate brains, but also offers a new design concept for building a new generation of artificial intelligence systems with fast learning and adaptive abilities. The related findings have been published in the international academic journal "Nature Communications".
