According to the Financial Times, British Prime Minister Stamer has warned Elon Musk and other technology company executives that in the UK, "no platform has a free pass" when it comes to illegal content. Prior to this, due to the scandal involving xAI's Grok chatbot, the Prime Minister is taking steps to tighten online safety regulations. The government has stated that it will seek powers to "act quickly" to close legal loopholes, in order to explicitly include artificial intelligence chatbots such as Grok, Google's Gemini, and OpenAI's ChatGPT, as well as social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, under the jurisdiction of the Online Safety Bill. Stamer cited Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI and its Grok chatbot as an example on Monday, stating: "The actions we are taking against Grok send a clear message: no platform has a free pass."
