Hainan's first cross-river power tunnel has started operations.

The new 220 kV Binjiang transmission and transformation project in Haikou successfully started power transmission through the river tunnel and the 220 kV Guojiang Line A and Line B, marking the official operation of Hainan's first power tunnel across the river. This signifies the addition of a new "energy artery" between the central urban area of Haikou and the Jiangdong New Area, providing a practical example for Hainan in building power transmission channels across rivers, seas, and densely populated urban areas. The tunnel, which connects the Jiangdong New Area with the central urban area of Haikou, has a total investment of 134 million yuan, a total length of 1050 meters, and crosses the Nandu River. It is currently the longest, largest, and most technologically challenging power tunnel in Hainan Province.
