On the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year, Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council held a discussion with foreign experts who have received the 2025 Chinese Government Friendship Award and are working in China at the Great Hall of the People on the afternoon of February 13. Vice Premier of the State Council, Ding Xuexiang, also attended. Li Keqiang extended his New Year blessings and sincere greetings to the foreign experts, thanking them for their long-standing support and care for China's modernization construction, and carefully listened to their opinions and suggestions on China's development and government work. Experts from the UK, the Netherlands, Uganda, Bulgaria, Belarus, Germany and other countries made speeches on topics such as technological innovation, agricultural development, cultural exchange, talent cultivation, and investment cooperation. Li Keqiang pointed out that the world is entering a new period of turmoil and change, with rising unilateralism and protectionism challenging the international order. However, science and art know no borders, and sticking to openness and cooperation is not only the popular trend but also the right path for humanity. China has always adhered to the basic national policy of opening up to the outside world and continuously expanded international cooperation in various fields. It is hoped that foreign experts will continue to serve as bridges and bonds connecting China to the world, playing a greater role in promoting mutual understanding, strengthening exchanges and mutual learning, and achieving mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. Last year, China's economy withstood pressure and continued to develop in a new and better direction, with growth rate remaining at the forefront of the world's major economies. At the same time, as an open and inclusive world market, a dynamic innovation hub, and an active contributor to green development, China has continuously contributed to what the world needs. Foreign experts who have made achievements in China have strong spillover effects, benefiting not only China but also the world.
