Police officers from the National Anti-Fraud Center remind you that there are mainly two types of red envelope scams: Firstly, fake red envelope links or QR codes, scammers will post information on various social platforms claiming that you can scan the QR code or click the link to receive a huge red envelope, luring you into downloading related fake apps via the link or QR code, which may implant Trojan viruses into your phone or steal your personal information to carry out fraud. The second type is disguised as a friend sending red envelopes. Scammers will steal someone else's social account and pretend to be a friend sending you a red envelope link, taking advantage of your trust in your friends to make you click the link and then carry out the scam.
