In response to the application of domestic industries, the Ministry of Commerce initiated an anti-subsidy investigation into imported dairy products from the European Union on August 21, 2024. Following the principles of fairness, impartiality, openness, and transparency, the Ministry of Commerce strictly conducted the investigation in accordance with relevant Chinese laws and regulations and WTO rules, widely listened to the opinions of all parties concerned, and fully safeguarded the rights of all parties, resulting in an objective and impartial investigation conclusion. The ruling report indicates that imported dairy products from the European Union are subsidized, causing substantial harm to relevant industries in China, and the causal relationship between subsidies and substantial harm is established. The Ministry of Commerce issued the final ruling announcement on February 12, 2026, determining a tax rate of 7.4% - 11.7% for EU companies, and decided to implement anti-subsidy measures starting from February 13, 2026, with a duration of 5 years.
