Report: Samsung has started mass production and commercial shipment of HBM4 chips.

Samsung Electronics has announced that it has begun mass production of the industry's first HBM4 chip and has already delivered commercial products to customers. This is a major breakthrough for the South Korean chip giant, marking a key milestone in its competition to sell high-end semiconductors needed for generative artificial intelligence. Samsung said in a statement on Thursday that commercial products have been delivered to customers, but did not disclose the specific customers. The company stated that samples of HBM4E are expected to be available in the second half of 2026, while custom HBM samples will be delivered to customers starting in 2027. The statement also mentioned that the "total memory bandwidth per stack has increased 2.7 times compared to the previous generation product" using the new HBM4 chip.
