On the 11th, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held talks with Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjarto in Budapest. Wang Yi said that China and Hungary have a traditional friendship. Under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, both sides have adhered to mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit, establishing a new era of all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership and becoming an example of a new type of international relations. Chinese companies investing and doing business in Hungary have effectively promoted Hungary's economic development and improvement of people's livelihood, bringing tangible benefits to the people. It has been proved that China-Hungary friendship and cooperation are in line with the fundamental interests of Hungary and its people and are also beneficial to the healthy development of China-Europe relations. The Chinese side appreciates Hungary's friendly policies towards China and is willing to continue to support each other in defending their legitimate rights and interests and to be a strategic partner that Hungary can rely on in its development and revitalization process. Wang Yi stated that in the past year, China's economy has moved forward under pressure and in a new direction, achieving the expected growth target. This year marks the beginning of China's "14th Five-Year Plan". China will promote high-quality development and high-level opening up, welcoming Hungary and other countries to share new development opportunities. Both sides should make good use of platforms such as the Joint Economic and Trade Commission and the Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation to expand cooperation in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, digital economy, and new energy, and to help each other's industries transform and upgrade. The Chinese government supports more enterprises to invest and do business in Hungary, believing that Hungary will provide a better business environment and more policy support. Hungarian friends are welcome to make use of the visa-free policy, experience a trip to China that can be arranged easily, and personally experience the real, developing, progressive, and inclusive Eastern giant. Wang Yi said that in the 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Europe, the achievements of cooperation are everywhere, fully proving that China is a partner rather than an opponent, and an opportunity rather than a risk. It is believed that as time goes by, more and more European countries will realize that China is a trustworthy long-term partner. It is hoped that Hungary will continue to actively promote China-Central and Eastern European countries cooperation and the development of China-Europe relations.
