The French government says it encourages the victims of the Epstein case to speak up.
On the 11th local time, French government spokesperson Moed Brejon issued a statement on the ongoing controversy surrounding the Epstein case, stating that the French government's position is very clear, and that this shocking and far-reaching incident must be thoroughly investigated. Brejon stated that the French government encourages all potentially affected women to bravely speak out and seek judicial help, and that the judicial authorities should fulfill their duties. The day before, French Foreign Minister Barro announced on social media that he had contacted the French judicial system and informed French diplomat Fabrice Aidan of the relevant facts related to the Epstein case. Aidan, who had previously worked at the United Nations headquarters, was dismissed for accessing child pornography. Newly disclosed documents show that Aidan had sent Epstein a summary of conversations between the UN Secretary-General and foreign dignitaries. The United Nations has not yet commented on this.
