Mediatek: January revenue decreased by over 8% year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter. Revenue from Q1 mobile business is expected to decline significantly.
In January, Mediatek's combined revenue was NT$46.977 billion, an 8.37% decrease from the previous month and an 8.15% decrease compared to the same period last year. Mediatek stated that the first quarter of 2026 will see a significant decline in revenue from the smartphone business, as demand for smart terminals will be impacted by rising costs in memory and overall BOM. However, revenue from the smart device platform product line is expected to show growth compared to the previous quarter and the same period last year, mainly driven by the recovery of demand for communication products, TVs, and computing devices. Revenue from power management IC in the first quarter is expected to remain steady. Looking at the whole year, it is predicted that Mediatek's operation in 2026 will continue to benefit from the growing AI industry trend.
