At the press conference held by the State Council Information Office today, officials from the Ministry of Commerce stated that arrangements have been made for ensuring the supply during the Spring Festival market in terms of source organization, reserve adjustment, and convenient services. They will closely monitor the market operation and ensure that the people can enjoy the Spring Festival. The relevant officials of the Ministry of Commerce introduced: In terms of strengthening source organization, localities have actively organized key supply enterprises to strengthen the connection between production and supply bases, broaden source channels, increase the amount and variety of stockpiles, and enrich the supply of holiday markets. In terms of strengthening reserve adjustment, they have guided localities to flexibly arrange the release of local reserve meat and vegetables according to the actual situation. Yang Mu, Director of the Market Operation and Consumer Promotion Department of the Ministry of Commerce, stated that they are actively guiding key commercial circulation enterprises to operate normally during the holiday season and increase the frequency of replenishment and shelving. According to research by the China Chain Store & Franchise Association, during the Spring Festival period, the opening rate of the top 20 chain supermarkets nationwide exceeded 99%, with about a third extending their operating hours appropriately. Major e-commerce platforms have launched measures such as "not closing during the Spring Festival" and "serving during the Spring Festival" to ensure normal ordering of goods and regular delivery during the holiday period. According to the monitoring of business big data, the market supply and demand of daily necessities nationwide before the festival are thriving, and prices are generally stable. On February 9, the trading volume of meat, vegetables, and eggs in 100 major agricultural wholesale markets nationwide increased by 13.8%, 9.6%, and 3.0% respectively compared to the same period last month; the inventory of grains and oils, meat, and eggs in key chain supermarkets nationwide increased by more than 20%, and vegetable inventory increased by 7.7%.
