The director of the Federal Aviation Administration stated on Tuesday that he expects Canada to announce the certification of Gulfstream business jets that have been delayed for years, resolving an issue emphasized by US President Trump. "I think we have resolved the issue with Canada," said Bryan Bedford, director of the Federal Aviation Administration, after meeting with lawmakers on Capitol Hill. "My understanding is that Transport Canada will announce the long-delayed certification of Gulfstream jets." Bedford said he expects Canada to announce certification of jets produced by US companies later this week. A spokesperson for the Canadian Minister of Transport said on Tuesday that the regulatory agency Transport Canada is continuing to work with Gulfstream and the FAA to certify the business jets. Gulfstream, a subsidiary of General Dynamics, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
