European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said that the bank is working hard to ensure controlled inflation to strengthen the European economy, and she urged lawmakers to implement a series of necessary reforms. "The European Central Bank's commitment is very clear: we will continue to focus on price stability to make Europe stronger," Lagarde told the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France on Monday. "However, Europe's resilience and competitiveness ultimately depend on a broader policy framework." Despite the eurozone showing resilience under multiple headwinds such as U.S. tariffs, increased public spending by Germany and other countries will provide support. However, European Central Bank officials said that the foundation of the eurozone still needs to be reinforced. They are particularly concerned about low productivity and weak economic growth, and are pushing for structural reforms and further integration.
