Experts: The development of robots has entered the stage of embodied intelligence with a closed loop of perception-decision-action.
On February 9th, the National Science and Technology Communication Center reported to the media that its academic development lecture hall recently held a special session on embodied intelligence. Academic experts in the field delivered keynote speeches, stating that from the perspective of technological evolution, robots have now developed into the stage of "perception-decision-action" closed-loop embodied intelligence.
During the keynote speech session of the special session, Professor Sun Lining, Director of Robotics and Microsystems Research Center at Soochow University and Director of Jiangsu Intelligent Robotics Technology Innovation Center, explained the era background, strategic significance, and technological evolution path of embodied intelligence development in a systematic manner, pointing out that the current manufacturing industry is transforming towards high-end, intelligent, and green directions. At the same time, changes in population structure present new challenges to labor supply and social services, and these macro backgrounds together have generated rigid demand for robots and embodied intelligence.
From the perspective of technological evolution, robots have gone through the transformation from early "programmable, senseless" industrial robots, to intelligent robots with simple perception functions, and further developed into the stage of embodied intelligence emphasizing "perception-decision-action" closed-loop. Sun Lining explained that this evolutionary process involves deep integration of artificial intelligence and multidisciplinary technologies, driving robots from replacing repetitive labor to adapting to complex scenarios and forming a new form of coexistence and cooperation with humans.
