China has realized kilogram-level uranium extraction from seawater.

According to the official Weibo account of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), on February 5, the Academic Exchange Conference on Uranium Extraction from Seawater and the Council of the Seawater Uranium Extraction Technology Innovation Alliance were held in Shanghai. The meeting announced that China has successfully achieved the goal of extracting kilogram-level uranium products from seawater in a real marine environment as scheduled, laying a solid foundation for the transition of domestic seawater uranium extraction technology from the laboratory to engineering.
