The Spring Festival holiday in 2026 will be from February 15th to February 23rd, totaling 9 days. Small-sized vehicles with 7 seats or less will be allowed to travel on highways for free from midnight on February 15th to midnight on February 23rd. On February 9th, the Beijing traffic department released an analysis of the road network during the Spring Festival, predicting that the flow of out-of-town vehicles will peak on February 13th and gradually decrease afterwards. The return flow of vehicles is expected to peak on February 23rd, and there may be concentrated traffic and short-term congestion on major routes into the city, provincial borders, and key roads leading into the city. In addition, during the holiday period, there may be temporary traffic congestion on roads leading to mass events such as New Year's Eve, popular parks, shopping districts, and other key areas.
