News reports claim that Samsung is considering expanding its OLED panel production capacity in response to Apple's plans to launch the iPhone Flip, a small foldable phone.

Due to Apple's plan to release an iPhone Fold large folding device followed by an iPhone Flip small folding device, Samsung Display is currently evaluating expanding its OLED panel production capacity for Apple's foldable products. Samsung Display is considering investing in additional folding OLED production equipment at its A4 factory in Yashan, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea, with a focus on upgrading backplane-related processes, including thin film transistor production lines. The overall direction has been determined, and once internal review of the specific investment scale is completed, related capital expenditures are expected to begin in the second quarter of this year.
