Officials in charge of the relevant bureaus of the Central Propaganda Department and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism answered questions from journalists about the "Three-year Action Plan for Revitalizing Drama".

The plan includes 24 measures in 7 aspects. The first is to support the development of theater groups, providing policy support, continuously deepening reforms, supporting the development of grassroots theater groups, and cultivating excellent theater management talents. The second is to improve the quality of play creation, stimulate creative vitality, encourage theater groups to establish creation studios, establish a sound play review mechanism, create a full-process creation guidance mechanism, and build a platform for play collection and promotion. The third is to enhance the efficiency of work evaluation and financial support, fully play the role of awards, strengthen the construction of theater theory and criticism, and improve the efficiency of funding for play creation and performance support. The fourth is to strengthen the foundation of the theater talent team, implement the plan for the growth of excellent young theater talents, increase support for local creative talents, continuously carry out the work of "passing on the classics," and strengthen and improve theater education. The fifth is to promote the improvement of the quality and quantity of theater performances, continue to enhance the brand of exhibitions and festivals, and promote high-quality theater resources to reach grassroots levels. The sixth is to strengthen the protection and inheritance of theater, establish a library of classic preserved plays, rescue, protect, and activate precious historical materials, and implement plans for the protection of traditional theatrical genres. The seventh is to strengthen the popularization, promotion, and exchange of theater, expand the dissemination of theater, cultivate young theater audiences, and strengthen the international exchange and promotion of theater. Through solidly advancing the above key tasks, the vitality of theater innovation and creation is continuously enhanced, the quality of plays is significantly improved, a number of excellent theater works are released, the theater talent team continues to grow, young leading talents emerge continuously, a relatively sound mechanism for theater creation, service, guidance, and organization is formed, the industry ecology is significantly improved, and the satisfaction and sense of acquisition of the people are continuously enhanced.
