Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization: In Shanghai, there is no shortage of computing power for good models, no shortage of language data for good applications, and no shortage of chips for good products.
On February 7th, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government held a themed press conference. In response to questions about developing the artificial intelligence industry ecosystem in Shanghai, Tang Wenkan, director of the Shanghai Municipal Economic and Information Commission, stated that Shanghai has four major advantages for developing the artificial intelligence industry: industry cluster synergy, super-large urban scenarios, abundant talent supply, and a complete system of production and finance.
Next, the focus will be on three areas of continued effort, including further strengthening the industry chain, increasing the supply of innovative elements, and creating an open and active environment. "In Shanghai, we have no lack of computing power for good models, language data for good applications, and chips for good products," Tang Wenkan said. Shanghai has nearly 10% of the country's computing power, operates the country's first public service platform for language data, has introduced 138 registered large models, and has achieved breakthroughs in multiple intelligent computing chips.
In recent years, Shanghai has been issuing 1 billion yuan worth of computing power vouchers, language data vouchers, and model vouchers each year, implementing a package of actions such as "modeling speed up in Shanghai, model power convergence in Shanghai, and intelligent model speed up in Shanghai," as well as the AI4S "hundreds of teams, hundreds of projects" initiative. Especially in the field of embodied intelligence, Shanghai has nearly 40 humanoid robots that have already made their way from the laboratory into daily life, empowering the real economy.
