The Ministry of Transportation convened a departmental meeting.

The meeting pointed out that the overall situation of transportation safety production in January was generally stable, but there are still issues such as weak safety foundation and inadequate safety supervision. It is necessary to deeply study and implement the important instructions and spirits of General Secretary Xi Jinping on safety production, focus on rectifying major hidden risks, ensuring safety control of major hazardous sources, enhancing safety precautions during key periods, and conducting special governance on prominent issues in key areas. Efforts should be made to improve proactive defense against disasters, continuously strengthen the fundamental safety capabilities, safety supervision in key areas, emergency systems, and capacity building. It is important to implement and refine proactive defense measures including "response, inspection, control", tailor strategies for each area to enhance charging services at service areas, improve emergency road network passability, strengthen guarantee for mass transportation and evacuation, and enhance safety supervision of vehicles carrying passengers and hazardous materials, passenger ships, and urban passenger transportation.
