Pakistan mosque explosion has caused over a hundred casualties. Pakistani Prime Minister has condemned the attack.
On February 6th local time, Pakistani officials said that a explosion occurred in a mosque in the capital Islamabad, leaving at least 31 people dead and around 170 injured. Reporters from the central station saw that the police had already sealed off the scene outside the mosque. Islamabad officials stated that the explosion took place in a Shia mosque in the town of Sheikh Zayed, and security forces, police, and rescue teams have arrived on the scene to conduct investigations and rescue operations. The injured have been taken to hospitals in Islamabad and nearby Rawalpindi for treatment. Due to the critical condition of many of the injured, the death toll may rise. Witnesses reported that a suicide bomber detonated the explosives on his body after being stopped at the entrance of the mosque, causing casualties and damage to the mosque and nearby buildings. Currently, no organization has claimed responsibility for the explosion. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz condemned the explosion, expressing deep condolences for the loss of innocent lives and offering sympathies to the families of the victims.
