Samsung is reportedly planning to expand its DRAM production capacity for HBM4.
According to reports, Samsung Electronics plans to increase its production of the sixth generation DRAM based on 10-nanometer process by about 170% this year. Samsung has set a strategy to install equipment at the fourth factory in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, with the goal of achieving a monthly production of 100,000 to 120,000 DRAM wafers in the first quarter of next year; the production line will be fully equipped with equipment to manufacture 1c DRAM for HBM4. Samsung's current monthly production capacity for 1c DRAM is 70,000 wafers.
