Secretary-General Cui Dongshu of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers stated in a document that the global car sales in December 2025 reached 8.86 million units, a 2% increase compared to the same period last year. With the relative slowdown of the Chinese and American car markets, the growth of global car sales in December 2025 also slowed down. The sales from January to December 2025 totaled 96.47 million units, a 5% increase compared to the same period last year. The global car sales from January to December 2025 increased by 5%, with Chinese car sales reaching 34.35 million units, a 9% increase, American sales reaching 16.72 million units, a 1% increase, Indian sales reaching 5.58 million units, a 7% increase, Japanese sales reaching 4.56 million units, a 3% increase, and German sales reaching 3.16 million units, a 1% increase. Currently, the Chinese market appears to be the most dynamic and fastest-growing. The Russian market is declining significantly, while Mexico's growth rate is slowing down, and markets in South America like Argentina are performing well. China's share of the world automobile market continues to rise, reaching a high of 40% in November and maintaining a good level of 37% in December. In 2024, China's market share was 34.2%, and it increased to 35.6% in 2025, a growth of 1.4 percentage points from the same period.
