The overall battery market continues a slight upward trend.
In February, the global production of battery cells by Chinese companies in the sample decreased by 11% month-on-month, while domestic production decreased by 12% month-on-month. Due to fluctuations in downstream component demand and silver prices, battery factories have reduced their production capacity. Manufacturers will prioritize digesting existing inventory in February, and then evaluate production plans based on demand and cost expectations for March, in order to minimize operational losses caused by cost lag. Last week, silver prices continued to rise, leading to a decrease in the willingness of battery factories to make low-priced shipments, with some leading companies choosing to raise prices instead. At the same time, due to the downward adjustment of module production in February, demand for battery cells weakened, leading to a slight overall accumulation in the market.
