On the 5th, Wang Huning, member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met with the special envoy of the Cuban party and government, member of the Central Political Bureau of the Cuban Communist Party, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rodriguez in Beijing. Wang Huning stated that in 2025, President Xi Jinping and President Diaz-Canel met twice, outlining the blueprint for building a closer China-Cuba community of shared future. China will firmly support Cuba in its just struggle against foreign interference and jointly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of developing countries. He believed that the Communist Party of Cuba would overcome difficulties and lead the Cuban people to achieve new accomplishments in the construction of the socialist path. The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference is willing to contribute to the deepening of friendly cooperation between China and Cuba. Rodriguez stated that China is an important force in maintaining world peace and represents hope for the global south. He thanked China for its selfless assistance to Cuba and expressed willingness to work with China to implement the consensus of the two leaders, continuously enhance the relations between the two parties and two countries, and jointly defend international fairness and justice.
