All-China Federation of Trade Unions: 3-year development of new forms of employment with 10.736 million worker members.
Recently, it was learned from the symposium on safeguarding the rights and interests of laborers in new forms of employment and negotiating work held by the national trade union that since the launch of the three-year action plan for trade union rights protection and services for laborers in new forms of employment in 2023, there have been new progress and achievements in various aspects such as organizing and joining the union, rights protection services, and skills training with a focus on laborers' concerns. Currently, there is full coverage of union branches in all cities and prefectures by 12 leading platform companies, and full coverage of union branches in key cities by 7 key platform companies. At the same time, 15 platform companies have conducted negotiations on algorithms and labor rules and signed collective agreements, covering over 20 million laborers in new forms of employment. In recent years, the national trade union has focused on key issues, collaborated with relevant ministries to strengthen top-level design, formulated guidelines for negotiating the rights of laborers in new forms of employment, guidelines for the work of platform enterprise trade unions, established ten major supporting projects for platform companies, conducted national trade union visits and condolences for laborers in new forms of employment, and dispatched office cadres to 19 platform companies for on-site work. Over 12,000 city and county-level union federations for new forms of business have been established nationwide. The number of members of laborers in new forms of employment has reached 10.736 million in the past three years.
