Ministry of Commerce: China's lawsuit against the United States over the "Inflation Reduction Act" reflects the basic consensus of WTO members.

The Ministry of Commerce held a routine press conference on February 5. When asked by reporters about the recent statement from the Office of the United States Trade Representative regarding the WTO ruling on China's complaint against the US "inflation reduction law", acknowledging defeat while criticizing the WTO ruling as erroneous and stating that it shows that existing WTO rules cannot address issues such as "overcapacity", the Ministry of Commerce spokesperson, Gao Feng, said, "We have taken note of the relevant statement from the US side. Regarding the WTO dispute case brought by China against the US 'inflation reduction law', I want to emphasize once again that the WTO expert panel has made an objective and impartial ruling. This ruling reflects the basic consensus of WTO members. As a member of the WTO, the US should respect the ruling and abide by the rules."
