Siemens acquires French semiconductor measurement software company Canopus AI.

Siemens announced on February 4th the acquisition of the French semiconductor measurement software company Canopus AI. The transaction was completed on January 12, 2026. Canopus AI was founded in 2021 and is based in Grenoble, France. The company is dedicated to using artificial intelligence technology to improve the accuracy and efficiency of wafer and mask measurement testing processes. This acquisition is Siemens' second major acquisition in the semiconductor software field in 2026. In January of this year, Siemens announced the acquisition of the PCB test engineering software manufacturer ASTER Technologies.
