Supreme People's Procuratorate: Serious crimes continue to decline.

At the press conference held by the Supreme People's Procuratorate on February 5, Deputy Procurator-General Miao Shengming introduced that from January to November 2025, national procuratorial organs accepted and approved the arrest of 873,000 and 604,000 individuals respectively, representing a year-on-year decrease of 15.6% and 12.9%; they also accepted 1.633 million cases for investigation and initiated public prosecutions against 1.272 million individuals, representing a year-on-year decrease of 19.6% and 13.3% respectively. Serious crimes continue to decline, and the reduction in the prevalence of crimes that affect the sense of security among the people is significant, with the total number of criminal cases nationwide being the lowest since the beginning of this century.
