Intel CEO: Chip shortage may continue until 2028
According to CNBC, on the 3rd local time, Pat Gelsinger, CEO of American chip manufacturer Intel, stated that the company is accelerating its layout in the graphics processing unit (GPU) field and has appointed a new chief architect. It is reported that this personnel change is also seen by the industry as an important move by Intel to increase its efforts in the GPU race and fight for market share in the AI hardware market. Gelsinger also mentioned the storage chip shortage problem that is plaguing the tech industry that day. He pointed out that the continued boom in data center construction has led to a supply-demand imbalance in the chip market, and it is expected that this chip shortage situation will not ease until 2028.
