Chinese company built and completed the first desert heavy-duty railway in Africa.

The first desert heavy-duty railway in Africa, the Algeria Western Railway Mining Line Project, was officially opened on the 1st. Algerian President Tebboune announced the project's official operation at the opening ceremony held in Bchar Province. The railway mining line is 950 kilometers long, of which 575 kilometers were built by China Railway Construction Corporation and local state-owned enterprises, making it the largest infrastructure project undertaken by a Chinese enterprise in Algeria. The project, once operational, will further improve Algeria's national railway network and promote connectivity and economic development in the southwestern provinces of Algeria.
