The Sudanese Minister of Energy attends the 2026 India Energy Week event.

On January 29, Sudan Scene Online reported that Energy Minister Mutazim attended the 2026 India Energy Week in Goa, India. During the event, Mutazim met with Indian Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep. He stated that the Sudanese Ministry of Energy is working hard to resolve the outstanding payments owed to Indian oil and gas companies, ensuring that these debts do not become obstacles to ongoing cooperation between the two sides. The Sudanese side proposed suggestions to resolve the debt issue, including granting new blocks to Indian companies. Sudan also hopes to work with India to repair damaged oil facilities in Sudan and restore production. Mutazim also met with the Chairman of the Indian National Power Company to discuss cooperation in the field of renewable energy and power infrastructure construction.
