In 2025, the insurance industry premium income increased by 7.43% year-on-year, and total assets achieved double-digit growth.

The latest data released by the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission shows that in 2025, the original insurance premium income of the insurance industry reached 6.1194 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.43% year-on-year. Among them, the original property insurance premium income was 1.4703 trillion yuan, an increase of 2.60% year-on-year; the original life insurance premium income was 4.6491 trillion yuan, an increase of 9.05% year-on-year. By the end of 2025, the total assets of the insurance industry were 41.3145 trillion yuan, an increase of 15.06% compared to the end of 2024. From the perspective of different operating entities, in 2025, the original insurance premium income of property insurance companies was 1.757 trillion yuan, an increase of 3.92% year-on-year; the original insurance premium income of life insurance companies was 4.3624 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.91% year-on-year.
