State-owned enterprise undertakes construction of Ethiopia wind power project put into operation.
The Aysha Wind Power Project in Ethiopia, built by Chinese companies, held its grid-connected power generation ceremony in the Somali region of the country on January 31st. It is understood that the Aysha Wind Power Project started construction in 2017, with Dongfang Electric signing a general contracting agreement with the Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation. The project has a total design capacity of 120 MW, with 48 units of 2.5 MW wind turbines installed. Currently, the first phase of 32 wind turbine units has been installed and grid-connected for power generation.
