Insider: Sachs stops e-commerce partnership with Amazon.

A source familiar with the decision said on Friday that bankrupt retailer Saks Fifth Avenue will terminate its partnership with e-commerce giant Amazon. Earlier this month, when Saks filed for bankruptcy, the partnership was already in trouble, but the retailer had not clearly stated that it would exercise its right to reject the contract under bankruptcy protection laws. On Friday, a source said Saks will close its Saks Fifth Avenue storefront on Amazon to focus on parts of its business that it believes will stimulate more growth. "Brand engagement on Saks Fifth Avenue storefronts on Amazon is limited," the source said, adding that Saks believes directing traffic to the Saks website would be better. Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
