European stocks post longest monthly winning streak of 2021

European stock markets rose as several companies including Swatch and Adidas released positive financial reports, and data shows that the economic growth in the region is stronger than expected. The STOXX Europe 600 index closed up 0.6%, with a cumulative increase of 3.2% in January. This is the seventh consecutive month of increase for the index, and also the longest consecutive increase since August 2021.
