State Administration of Foreign Exchange updates and releases major regulations directory

On January 30th, it was learned from the State Administration of Foreign Exchange that the State Administration of Foreign Exchange recently updated and published the "Catalogue of Main Regulations on Foreign Exchange Management in Effect". The updated catalogue includes a total of 169 main foreign exchange management regulations that have been implemented and published by December 31, 2025. They are classified into 8 major categories: comprehensive, current account foreign exchange management, capital account foreign exchange management, foreign exchange business supervision of financial institutions, RMB exchange rate and foreign exchange market, international balance of payments and foreign exchange statistics, foreign exchange inspection and regulation application, and foreign exchange technology management. They are further subdivided according to specific business types. The newly added documents in this update mainly involve multinational companies' integrated foreign currency fund pool business, cross-border investment and financing, bond repurchase, and the system for statistical reporting of foreign financial assets and liabilities and transactions.
