The Development and Reform Commission of Shanghai and the Finance Bureau of Shanghai have issued a notice on the implementation of the large-scale equipment renewal and old-for-new policy in Shanghai in 2026. It proposes to support the replacement and renewal of automobiles. Personal consumers who transfer ownership of their own passenger cars and purchase new energy passenger cars listed in the "Catalog of New Energy Passenger Car Models for Exemption of Vehicle Purchase Tax" or passenger cars with a displacement of 2.0 liters or less are eligible for a subsidy for the replacement and renewal of automobiles. The subsidy is 8% of the purchase price for new energy passenger cars and 6% of the purchase price for passenger cars with a displacement of 2.0 liters or less.
