Since the beginning of this week, the onshore Chinese yuan has cumulatively appreciated by about 0.2% against the US dollar, moving towards the tenth consecutive weekly increase. According to statistics, this will be the longest consecutive weekly increase since 2013. The significant decline in the US dollar index and the seasonal increase in export settlements have been the main reasons for the appreciation of the Chinese yuan during this period. However, based on recent feedback from traders and intra-day trading conditions, there is currently no sign of a decrease in this wave of settlements.
