On January 30th, the China Meteorological Administration released the first special weather report for the 2026 Spring Festival travel rush, marking the beginning of weather services for the Spring Festival travel rush. During the Spring Festival travel rush, the overall weather in China will fluctuate between cold and warm, with more precipitation in the north than in the south. The 2026 Spring Festival travel rush will start on February 2nd and end on March 13th. The report pointed out that from February 2nd to 14th, when passengers are returning home in large numbers, two cold air masses will affect the northern regions of China: from February 5th to 7th, there may be significant temperature drops and snowfall in northern parts of North China, Northeast China, and eastern Inner Mongolia; from February 10th to 13th, there may be low temperature rain and snow in North China, Northeast China, Inner Mongolia, northern parts of East China, northern parts of Central China, and eastern parts of Northwest China.
