Shanghai announced the construction of "Rocket Star City" in Minhang district with the aim of building a commercial aerospace industry worth billions of yuan.
Shanghai's commercial aerospace "Rocket City" construction plan was released. It was learned from the "Chain Industry Collaboration, Building a Strong Aerospace Nation" Commercial Aerospace Equipment and Application Industry Chain Action Conference held in Shanghai on January 29 that Shanghai is fully committed to building a national commercial aerospace industry hub, striving to reach an industry scale of around 100 billion yuan by 2027. The "Rocket City" is located in Minhang District of Shanghai, with a planned area of approximately 9.3 square kilometers, focusing on building a commercial aerospace industry cluster covering the entire chain of research and development, manufacturing, launch, operation, and application, and making efforts to construct a well-equipped, coordinated and efficient industrial development ecosystem. Its core tasks include enhancing the production and launch capabilities of commercial rockets, improving the overall level of rocket systems, and building an integrated launch chain of "Star Rocket Field", an in-orbit operation chain, and a space application service chain. According to the plan, "Rocket City" has set clear phased goals: by 2027, completing the layout of the full industry chain of reusable rockets, forming the research and service capabilities to produce 80 rockets and 200 satellites annually; by 2030, establishing a one-stop production and launch service system with the ability to produce 150 rockets and 500 satellites annually, comprehensively building a globally influential aerospace industry hub, and achieving an industry scale of hundreds of billions yuan.
