Deutsche Bank claims that the independence of research is sacred and inviolable. The controversial report prompted the CEO to call Beaumont beforehand.
Deutsche Bank stated that after a controversial research report prompted the bank's CEO Christian Sewing to call US Treasury Secretary Scott Benett, the bank has no plans to weaken the independence of its research department. "It is normal for management to have slightly different views on some issues than researchers," Sewing said on Thursday while presenting the company's performance. "This is beneficial for the bank and also for our clients."
