Cracking down on football "fake gambling and black market" 13 clubs were fined, Chen Xuyuan, Li Tie, and 73 others were banned from football for life.
This morning, the General Administration of Sport of China, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Chinese Football Association jointly held a press conference to introduce the special action plan for tackling the issues of fake gambling and illegal activities in the football industry. The Chinese Football Association stated that, in accordance with the disciplinary rules of the Chinese Football Association and other relevant regulations, industry penalties will be imposed on clubs and individuals involved in the cases. For the clubs involved, based on the amount, circumstances, nature, and social impact of the improper transactions in the cases, 13 clubs including Tianjin Jinmen Tiger Football Club will have points deducted in the 2026 season and will be fined. As for the individuals involved, 73 professionals including Chen Xuyuan and Li Tie, who have been identified by the court as having committed crimes, will be banned for life from engaging in any football-related activities. For 3 professionals whose actions seriously violated industry discipline but were not prosecuted by the prosecutor's office, they will be banned from engaging in any football-related activities for 5 years. The ban will be enforced from January 29, 2026 to January 28, 2031.
