China Meteorological Administration: Deepen the application of intelligent and informational technologies during the Spring Festival travel rush, and timely release the latest meteorological forecasts.
On the morning of January 29th, the State Council Information Office held a press conference on the situation and work arrangements for the 2026 Spring Festival travel rush. Wang Yawei, the spokesperson of the China Meteorological Administration and Director of the Disaster Reduction Service Department, said that during this year's Spring Festival travel rush, the meteorological department will comprehensively utilize various technological methods such as meteorological satellites, weather radar, digital forecasting, and artificial intelligence to strengthen rolling monitoring and precise forecasting of hazardous weather. They will deepen the intelligent and information-based application of technology, and timely release the latest meteorological forecasts and warning information to relevant departments and the public through traditional media, internet new media, and map navigation and other channels. At the same time, they will also organize meteorological experts to provide authoritative interpretations, in order to provide the general public with more precise, more detailed, and more personalized meteorological services for their travels.
