Due to cyber attacks causing Jaguar Land Rover to be paralyzed, coupled with US tariffs impacting British car manufacturers, UK's car production in 2025 has dropped to the lowest level in nearly 70 years. According to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), UK's car production in 2025 decreased by 8% to 717,371 vehicles. This is the worst situation since 1956. Including commercial vehicles, UK's car production hit a new low since 1952, with the total output declining by 16%. This is partially due to Stellantis (STLA.N) closing its Vauxhall van factory in Luton.
