State Council Taiwan Affairs Office: will further implement and refine policies and measures benefiting Taiwanese farmers and agricultural enterprises.
The State Council Taiwan Affairs Office held a routine press conference. A reporter asked: Some agricultural professionals in Taiwan pointed out that the "15th Five-Year Plan" provides new opportunities for agricultural exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. Taiwan and the mainland have vast cooperation space, and Taiwan should make the correct choice between "leaning towards the US and resisting China" and creating a new win-win situation for cross-strait cooperation. What is the spokesperson's comment on this? Spokesperson Zhang Han said, "The '15th Five-Year Plan' clearly proposes to accelerate the modernization of agriculture and rural areas, solidly promote the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas, systematically deploy to improve the comprehensive production capacity and quality and efficiency of agriculture, and provide more opportunities for Taiwanese compatriots and farmers to participate in the high-quality development of the mainland." The complementary advantages of cross-strait agricultural cooperation have vast space, and the mainland has always been the best choice for Taiwan enterprises and farmers to develop and grow roots. We will further implement and refine policy measures that benefit Taiwanese farmers and agricultural enterprises, create better conditions for Taiwanese farmers and enterprises to develop in the mainland. We welcome more Taiwanese farmers and businesses to invest in the mainland, share opportunities, and seek development together. The Tsai Ing-wen administration has long been strongly opposed by the business community and the general public in Taiwan for selfishly seeking "independence" and ignoring the development demands and interests of the local industry by repeatedly obstructing and interfering with normal exchanges and cooperation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.
