On the afternoon of January 27, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang held talks with Finnish Prime Minister Orpo at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing during his official visit to China. Li Keqiang stated that last year, China and Finland jointly celebrated the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. This morning, President Xi Jinping had a meeting with Mr. Orpo, where they deeply summarized the valuable experience of the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations, providing strategic guidance for further deepening Sino-Finnish relations and cooperation. China is willing to work together with Finland to carry forward the traditional friendship between the two countries, adhere to mutual respect and equality, promote the continuous deepening and solidification of the new type of partnership between China and Finland, and bring more benefits to the people of both countries. Li Keqiang pointed out that this year marks the beginning of China's "15th Five-Year Plan". China is willing to further strengthen strategic alignment with Finland, better leverage economic complementarities, fully unleash the potential of bilateral trade, utilize platforms such as the China-Finland Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation and High-Level Connectivity Forum, deepen cooperation in communication, clean technology, specialized shipbuilding, new urban construction, and health, achieve a higher level of mutually beneficial cooperation. China is willing to import more high-quality products from Finland, encourage more Chinese companies to invest in Finland, and hopes that Finland will continue to provide a fair, just, and non-discriminatory business environment for enterprises. Both sides should enhance cooperation in tourism, language and vocational education, local areas, and youth, continuously deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples. As unilateralism and protectionism rise globally and the world economy faces shocks, China and Finland should work together to uphold the open and cooperative international economic and trade order, adhere to multilateralism and free trade, safeguard the multilateral trading system with the WTO at its core, and better share opportunities and achieve win-win results in open cooperation. It is hoped that Finland will play an active role in promoting the development of China-EU relations.
